We’ll confirm availability and email you an invoice and details.
3. DEMO & INSTALLATION
Come to Absolute Baby for the booking and we will demonstrate and professionally install the capsule.
4. CHECK & ADJUST
After a few weeks we’ll email you a link to book in for the complimentary capsule check-up.
Car Capsule Hire FAQs
Is capsule hire worth it?
Yes. Many families love the convenience of being able to transfer a sleeping baby between the car and pram during the newborn stage.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes. Bookings are recommended as capsules can be in high demand at times.
Can you install the capsule for me?
Yes. Professional installation is included with all car capsule and car seat hires.
Can I extend my hire?
Yes. Simply contact us and we’ll arrange an extension.
What if my baby outgrows the capsule before my hire period ends?
Most baby capsules are suitable from newborn through to approximately 6–12 months, depending on the model and your child’s growth.
Capsules are outgrown based on the child reaching the height marker on the seat – not simply their age. For example, some models such as the Britax B-Pod, Maxi-Cosi Mico 12LX and Britax Safe-n-Sound Unity NEOS may be used up to approximately 12 months if the child remains below the maximum height marker.
If your baby outgrows the capsule before your hire period finishes the capsule can simply be returned early. If available, we can swap to another capsule or a 0-4yrs car seat for the remainder of your hire term (no refund is provided for unused hire time).
💡 Most families are happy to return their capsule after 6 months as bub is getting heavy but all babies grow at different rates.
What happens if the hire capsule is in a car crash while I have it?
If you are involved in any type of car accident, no matter how minor, you must inform us immediately.
For your own safety, we must replace your car child restraint with another.
The jeopardised restraint must be returned to our office as soon as practicable and will then be destroyed by us.
You will be required to either claim current retail replacement cost of the capsule from your insurer, or if you prefer, you can settle the account directly with us.
Do I have to clean the capsule before I return it?
We understand kids love mess but we do ask that you return our capsule in a similar condition as it was hired to you.
Capsules returned heavily soiled will incur a cleaning fee. Where the manufacturers cleaning instructions don’t return the gear to an acceptable condition, you may need to pay for a replacement.
When should the hire capsule be installed?
What happens if I’m unsure how to use the capsule after installation?
We’ll guide you through everything during your installation appointment, including harness adjustment, everyday use and important safety checks.
If you ever have questions later, you’re always welcome to contact us by text or call or pop back in for support.
Can a capsule work with my pram?
Many capsules are compatible with prams using adaptors. We stock the most compatible capsule types and can help you choose suitable options.
What if my baby comes early?
Yes it does happen! Babies arrive when they’re ready they can’t see the calendar.
If you have a current booking and your baby makes an earlier than expected arrival, please have your partner or friend call us on 0437 412 676 and we will aim to get your capsule installed within 24 hours. If your chosen product isn’t available at the new time, we would be happy to supply you with an alternate car seat or capsule until your chosen product is ready.
Your hire dates will simply be changed to encompass the early arrival.
Do you offer capsules suitable for low birth weight babies?
Yes. Selected models are suitable for smaller or low birth weight babies.
What happens when my capsule hire period ends?
We will send you a reminder email with a link to book the capsule return adn access the discounted installation of your car safety seat.

How do I know the capsule is clean and safe to use?
All capsules hired through Absolute Baby go through a thorough cleaning and safety inspection process between hires.
Each capsule is:
- professionally cleaned and sanitised
- carefully checked for stress marks, damage, or excessive wear
- inspected for signs it may have been involved in an accident
Any capsule showing signs of damage or compromised safety is immediately removed from our hire catalogue.
Your baby’s safety is always our priority.
What are the Terms & Conditions?
Hire Summary:
A $50 deposit (or total hire cost if less than $50) is due upon booking to secure your baby gear. | Final payment is due 7 days prior to collection of baby gear.
Deposit is not refundable if cancelled with less than 7 days’ notice. If 7+ days’ notice is given, the deposit minus 2% will be refunded.
All time is chargeable including Sundays & Public Holidays. Gear is due for return on or before close of business on the Due In date.
You are responsible for your own safety & the safety of everyone who uses the gear (including children).
